How to Choose a Pendant Light
Start with the job the pendant needs to do: create a focal point, light a working surface or add a warm layer of ambient light. Then compare scale, material, light direction and installation height.
Choose scale before finish
A beautiful finish cannot correct a fixture that is too small for the room. Use the table, island or seating area below as the visual anchor and check the fixture dimensions on the product page.
Consider the light effect
Opaque stone shades produce focused pools of light and a softly illuminated surface. Open glass or exposed bulbs spread more light and may need dimming for evening comfort.
Plan installation details
Confirm ceiling height, canopy size, cord length, voltage, bulb base and dimmer compatibility before ordering. Installation should be completed by a qualified electrician.
